Manarat School

MSK reputation has been growing through the years, becoming one of the best schools for students with learning difficulties (LD) in Kuwait. The school’s primary instructional focus is to educate students with learning difficulties who are capable of progressing academically.

In 2007, the Kuwait Ministry of Education granted MSK the license to open its school for students with learning difficulties in Grades PreK – 12. MSK has been authorized by The Kuwait Ministry of Education to offer the ASDAN Award program. The Ministry Decree (2008/ 237) concerns the diplomas of students with special needs in private schools using a foreign curriculum. MSK achieved Accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) since 2012. MSK also became a member of UNESCO in 2014.

The learning program aims to provide the structure and support needed to help students reach their academic potential and our high standards. Students may graduate through one of two Ministry-approved plans: a standard high school diploma which may be Literary or Scientific, or a certificate of completion with the ASDAN Award program.

•A two-tiered educational program in Secondary School;
The Challenge Academic Program (CAP) and Modified Academic Program (MAP)

•Arabic programs as required by the Ministry of Education;
Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and the Holy Qur’an.

Their teachers, instructors and support staff provide Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Support services and therapies: speech, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, reading, math, behaviour Intervention and career advising.

They also provide Short-term counseling, crisis intervention and testing services. MSK supports individual students in pursuit of excellence in various achievements or talents. The following are some examples:- Academic Excellence, Academic Improvement, Academic Achievement; such as Writing Award – Math Award – Spelling Award – Science Project Award – Social Studies Project Award, Perfect Attendance Award, Excellent Behavior Award, Star Helpers Award, Hard Work Award.

MSK actively encourages students to undertake service learning and supports the development of student leadership. This has been handled by secondary SFA classes twice a year and elementary classes collecting clothing, toys, and food, and money donations for the Children’s Cancer Hospital. MSK Student Council actively promotes and models global environmental awareness and responsibility across MSK’s community, and this has been addressed by Scope and Sequence of Social Studies and Science in the 3R’s, (Reduce, Re-use and Recycle), Kuwait National Day, Sports Day, International Day, Bazaar Day and Swimming Day.
