The British School of Kuwait (BSK) is a co-educational international school located in Salwa, Kuwait.The teaching programmes are based on the National Curriculum of England.
The British School of Kuwait (BSK) was established in 1978 as a small kindergarten named ‘The Sunshine School’. The decision was made to serve the community at both Primary and Secondary levels, a move to the present site in Salwa took place and in September 1993, newly renamed, The British School of Kuwait opened to 900 students.

BSK currently provides a quality British curriculum education to students from Reception to Year 13. The students come from more than 70 countries and follow the National Curriculum of England through to GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A Level qualifications. The school provides a structured, caring and happy environment for learning with excellent resourcing and a qualified, highly-trained and well-motivated staff.

BSK has a curriculum managed into a number of operational or tactical groups. Students are placed into year groups according to their age on 15 September of the academic year, as required by the Ministry of Education in Kuwait. The National Curriculum of England is organised into Key Stages of development directly linked to these year groups in terms of content and challenge.

Primary at The British School of Kuwait comprises the Lower Phase and the Junior Phase. The Secondary school at The British School of Kuwait comprises the Middle Phase and the Higher Phase which is made up of the Upper Department and the Sixth Form. They also conduct evening classes offering Mathematics and Science Courses at GCE AS Level.

BSK offers students of all ages an impressive range of enriching extracurricular activities. Whether their interests lie in pursuing sporting excellence, developing their artistic abilities, honing their debate skills, undertaking internationally recognized programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, or exploring a host of science and technology related interests, such as the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge, there really is something for everyone. The breadth of opportunities open to them are further supplemented by the programmes on offer through our affiliate organisations the British Academy of International Arts (BAIA) and the British Academy of Sport (BAS).
