Al Ru'ya Bilingual School

Al-Ru'ya Bilingual School (RBS) prepares students to acquire the shared Islamic and universal ethical values, and the intellectual qualities necessary to achieve their positive, creative, and productive potential through clear objectives and priorities.

RBS was founded in 1996, got accredited from the CIS (Council of International Schools) in July 2008 and uses Arabic and English as teaching languages. RBS is also a Microsoft School partner

The subjects that are taught in English are the English Language Art, Math, Science, Information Technology and Arts & Crafts.

The subjects that are taught in Arabic are the Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Social Studies and the specially designed Al Ru'ya Pastoral Program. The teaching of the program requires modeling and creating real-life situations where learned principles and values are applied.

The academic program leads to the High School Diploma and focuses on preparing students for the colleges and the universities of Kuwait, the Arab world, the USA and Europe.

The students are placed in a segregated campus, from grade 1 to 12. The campus is comprised of 91 classrooms and specialized areas like science labs, computer labs, and Art and Craft galleries. The two buildings share one large Media Center, four gyms, 5 playgrounds and a purpose-built theater. The school also has two imperial swimming pools; one for girls and one for boys.

The school year runs from September to June. The year is divided into two semesters with the annual Spring holiday (late January/early February) in between.

RBS library & media center consists of Arabic library, English library, and Audiovisual library ( Media Center ) contains a variety of collections of CDs, Audios, and kits in addition to data show and PCs connected to the internet for students use. In addition to the Elementary library, and Teacher resources room that contains a huge collection of resources to assist teachers.

OPAC ( Online Public Access Catalog ) Information Portal is a software tool for library patrons that provides an easy way to search for, view or renew checked-out items, request or cancel holds for library items, view and submit changes to their user account-from anywhere on the World Wide Web.

All prospective students are interviewed and required to pass the English, Arabic, and Math placement tests.
