The youngest and most dynamic regional commercial bank, established in 1977, the Burgan Bank has acquired a leading role in the retail, corporate and investment banking sector through innovative product offers and technologically advanced delivery channels.
The bank has majority owned subsidiaries in the MENAT region supported by one of the largest regional branch networks. This includes Gulf Bank Algeria - AGB (Algeria), Bank of Baghdad - BOB (Iraq & Lebanon), Tunis International Bank – TIB (Tunisia), and fully owned Burgan Bank – Turkey, (collectively known as the “Burgan Bank Group”). The Bank was re-certified with the prestigious ISO 9001:2015, making it the one of the few banks in the GCC and Kuwait to receive such certification for the Fifth consecutive time. Furthermore, the Bank became one of the first local Bank to implement Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Program across Burgan Bank Group in line with Burgan Bank expansion strategy. It also has to its credit the distinction of being the only bank in Kuwait to have won the JP Morgan Chase Quality Recognition Award, 12 year in succession. Furthermore, for two consecutive years, it was conferred the COMMERZBANK Recognition Award, for maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency and reliability while processing Euro currency transactions as well .
