Over 80 percent population fully vaccinated against Covid19

26 January 2022

About 3.2 million people (82.8 percent) of eligible population in Kuwait have been completely vaccinated against Covid19, the Health Ministry in Kuwait announced.

The number of those with just one dose of inoculation against virus constituted 85.7 percent, it said.

About 685,000 Kuwaitis and foreign nationals have so far received booster shots, it said.

During December 2020, Kuwait introduced mass vaccinations against Covid19. Recently, the country saw a surge in infections, which made the authorities reimpose health restrictions.

As part of new precautions announced by Kuwaiti government to stop the virus spread, all arrivals in Kuwait will now have to submit a negative PCR conducted 72 hours prior to arrival.

The Kuwaiti government also decided to temporarily suspend all social events at indoor places from 9th January until 28th February.
