Kuwait Municipality Director General, Ahmad Al-Manfouhi has directed closure of all cafes in Kuwait from today. The decision is applicable to cafes in shopping malls, markets, fuel stations and rest stations on highways.

However, they are allowed to continue delivery service from 5am to 7pm when daily partial curfew is in effect. Al-Manfouhi further emphasized that the decision forms part of precautionary and preventive measures taken by the municipality to stem the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Meanwhile, Dr. Faisal Al-Awadhi, the Director General of Funerals’ Affairs declared a ban on visit to cementeries. As for funerals, only close relatives of the deceased are allowed to be present, as per the directions by the Health Ministry, which is also part of extraordinary measures against the disease.

In addition to this, the municipality has fixed burial time from 8am to 3pm, and the burial of the body should be done instantly, they said.
