Kuwait reports 20 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

Kuwait has reported 20 new cases of coronavirus pandemic in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in Kuwait to 255.

The Health Ministry revealed that out of these, seven new cases are linked to travel history to Britain, while the remaining 13 contracted the virus on being in contact with one of the Covid-19 patients. However, Kuwait has also recorded three new coronavirus recoveries, making the total recoveries to 67, announced Dr. Basel Al Sabah, the Health Minister.

Out of these confirmed cases, 12 are now in the intensive care unit, while 9 cases are in stable condition, and 3 in critical condition. The Kuwaiti government has implemented several measures to contain the spread of virus, which included, suspension of all international flights to and from Kuwait until further notice. Kuwait also closed schools and universities until August.

Further, a nationwide curfew is in place from 5pm to 4am until further notice.
