Kuwait plans not to extend complete lockdown after 30th May

Kuwait has announced plans to end complete lockdown, and replace it with a partial curfew as of 31st May, a top official revealed.

The Kuwait Minister of Interior, Anas Al Saleh, said that the government decided not to continue with the 24-hour nationwide curfew imposed due to coronavirus outbreak, beyond 30th May. Instead, it will be replaced with a partial curfew, that may be gradually reduced as normalcy returns.

The Minister further said “we are entering a new phase in our war against the COVID-19 virus after May 30”.

Technical teams are now working to put final touches on plans to return to normal life, the minister said.

The Kuwaiti authorities implemented the complete curfew from 10th May to 30th May, as part of precautionary measures to curb the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the country, due to increase in coronavirus cases on daily basis.
