Council of Ministers has approved a draft decree pardoning the remainder of the sentence restricting freedom imposed on the persons whose names are mentioned in Case No. 2073 of 2020.
All those pardoned under the provisions of this decree are subject to all official procedures taken by the competent authorities to consider the pardon as null and void in the event that any of them violates the law during the period from which he was exempted in order to fulfill the full term of the sentence.
The Ministry of Interior, represented by the prisons, traffic and operations sectors, took strict security measures in the vicinity of the Central Prison, in preparation for the release of those convicted in the Shammar Consultation Case No. 2073 of 2020.
Rescue and traffic patrols spread around the prison to organize the exit of the released persons without problems, and to control traffic around the prison, especially in light of the large numbers of relatives of the prisoners who had gone to the prison area to receive them. The brother of one of the convicts told Al-Qabas, “We have been officially informed of the approval of the amnesty, expressing thanks and praise to the political leadership and the Council of Ministers for this amnesty."
