The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is gearing up for the Eid Al-Fitr holidays with a number of new measures aimed at facilitating movement at the airport during the 10-day Eid Al-Fitr holidays when according to statistics about 352,000 people are expected to use the Kuwait International Airport, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to the statistics on the movement of passengers and aircraft expected from Kuwait International Airport during the Eid Al-Fitr holidays from April 28 to May 7, about 60% of the total passenger traffic will be outbound, believed to be about 208 thousand on 1,400 flights compared to 144,000 inbound passengers on same number of flights.
The statistics show the most favored travel destinations during the holidays are Dubai, Istanbul, Sabiha, Trabzon, Bodrum, Jeddah, Cairo and Doha.
The sources indicated that the summer and Eid season this year will witness crowding and intensity at times, due to the increasing demand for citizens and residents to spend their vacations outside the country after the decline of the Corona epidemic and the easing of strict travel restrictions.
The sources explained the operational sectors in the DGCA will raise the degree of readiness to deal with the movement of traffic during the holidays and the summer season in general.
