After close monitoring of the developments surrounding the Covid-19 outbreak, the GCES Secretariat has made the decision to postpone this year’s conference.
Over the last few weeks, Kuwaiti authorities have halted passenger air travel, stopped issuing visas, and placed restrictions on public gatherings, which impacts our ability to organize the conference at this time. The organizers have therefore decided to postpone the conference to a new date tentatively in April 2021.
With the GCES celebrating its 10th anniversary, the 2020 conference was planned to reflect back on the theme of education reform in the Gulf from the first symposium in 2010, to see what has changed and the lessons and practices that can be shared since the initial symposium
The next year conference will be held under the same theme, and they are planning to follow the conference program as closely as possible. All presenters who were accepted to present at GCES 2020 are invited to present their research on the new date for the Conference in 2021.
The Secretariat will work on identifying a new date in the spring of 2021 as soon as possible. Once the new date has been confirmed, they will send out a new registration form and ask all presenters to re-register. Registration fees will be waived for participants who have already paid for the GCES Conference 2020.
