Al-Bayan Bilingual School

Al-Bayan Bilingual School (BBS) was created with a vision to prepare students for the world of today and the challenges of tomorrow. The school offers a bilingual program in which the Arabic and English languages carry equal emphasis and status, the goal of which is to bridge global progress with the traditional values of Arab culture.

BBS achieved accreditation in 1989, and was the first school in the region to have been awarded accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Council of International Schools (CIS), as well as the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education. Their awards acknowledge that BBS continues to meet their requirements for accreditation, as defined by their esteemed institutions.

As part of the accreditation process, as outlined by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and Council of International Schools (CIS), BBS is currently undertaking a 5-Year Review Report; this report will detail the school’s progress in meeting the recommendations put forth by NEASC and CIS after the 2009 Self-Study for Re-Accreditation. The long list of accomplishments, the pro-active initiatives, and the school’s attention to the 2009 recommendations over the past 5 years is impressive. In 2019-2020, BBS will undertake the school-wide, year-long Self-Study for another 10 years of accreditation by NEASC and CIS.

BBS is also a member of Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA), The College Board, and the National Honors Society (NHS), which give recognition to students with high academic records, good character, leadership skills, and commitment to their community.

The school possesses world-class facilities with a stunning theatre, two football courts, 3 Gymnasiums, two-story library and a media center. The School also has 10 Fully-equipped science laboratories, 7 Music classrooms, 5 Art classrooms, 8 Student counseling offices and 2 Conference rooms.
