The Universal American School-Kuwait is a private co-educational, college-preparatory day school serving a multi-national student body from nursery to grade 12.
The Universal American School-Kuwait is accredited by The Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. UAS offers a full American program with Arabic (for Arabs). French and Spanish are also offered.

UAS utilizes a very selective student admissions procedure based on interviews and required entrance examinations at all levels. A student must complete 28 credits to receive the UAS diploma, in English, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Science, World Languages, Islamic religion (Muslims only), Computer Technology, Physical Education and electives. The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program and its AP International Diploma are integral components of the high school program. Twelve AP courses are offered at UAS. Counselling services are provided and include preparation for the TOEFL, PSAT, SAT, PLAN, ACT and school-wide achievement tests. College admissions are served by the College Board’s Ex-Pan services.

The school is located in a newly built facility in Hawally, Kuwait City. The new facility includes three swimming pools, an indoor sports hall, an auditorium with 400 seats, a large Health Clinic with an on-site physician; and a very high health standard. The new campus includes a large library with over 25,000 volumes of books and periodicals. Subscription services also include a large number of magazines, journals and e-media. There are 30 library computers with high-speed access to the Internet. The library has an access to the EBSCO magazine/journal system.

There are also three high school and one middle school science labs. The school employs an advanced and well-prepared technology program with more than 200 PC’s throughout the school as well as smart mimio boards, digital projectors, document cameras etc. The PlusPortals communication system allows enhanced communication with parents.

UAS is a member of KFSAC, which is a local and regional activity conference. UAS is a UNESCO Associated School. The school year comprises four quarters within a 4 x 4 Accelerated Block schedule. Report cards are issued at the end of each quarter. Extra-curricular activities include a range of sports, drama, art, music, band, yearbook, and journalism, Model UN, student government, spring carnival, computer club, chess club and other activities. The sports program includes the major sports of basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track and field.
